About CBSE NET Exam 2019
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) holds the National Eligibility Test (NET) on behalf of the University Grants Commission. The test helps determine the eligibility of the Indian candidates for Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellowship & Assistant Professor both. Junior Research Fellowship awardees are eligible to pursue research in post-graduate from IITs or other national organizations. They are also eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Professor in Indian colleges and universities.
Eligibility Criteria for CBSE NET Exam 2019
The eligibility criteria for NET is as follows:
- Qualifying Examination: Master’s or equivalent degree from UGC recognized Universities/Institutions
- Subjects: The candidate must be passed in subjects like Humanities, Languages, Social Sciences, Computer Science, Electronic Science, etc
- Marks: Minimum 55% (50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD) marks in qualifying exam
- Candidates who are appearing for the final exams are also eligible to apply
- 5% relaxation for Ph.D holders whose Master’s Level exam has been completed by 19th September 1991
- Age: For Junior Research Fellowship, the age limit is 30 years and for the post of Assistant Professor, there is no prescribed age limit

Application Procedure for CBSE NET Exam 2018
- Fill the application form on the official website of NET.
- Upload photograph and signature
- Pay the application fees
- Take print-out of confirmation page for future reference
Admit Card for CBSE NET Exam 2018
Admit Cards will be available for the January session in the month of June.
Candidates must carry the admit card along with a Photo-Identity Proof (Passport, Driving license, College/Institute Identity Card, Aadhaar Card, Pan Card, Voters Id Card, etc)
Exam Pattern for CBSE NET Exam 2018
- The test consists of two offline papers
- Paper-1 consists of 50 questions and Paper-2 consists of 100 questions
- Paper-1 consists of the General Aptitude Questions and Paper-2 consists of questions relevant to the subject selected by the candidates
- Each correct answer carries 2 marks and there are no negative marks

Selection Criteria for CBSE NET Exam 2018
The top 15% students are selected for the merit list and hence eligible for the Assistant Professor.
A separate merit list for the top 15% will be made for the Junior Research Fellowship.
